We are humbled to have been a part of a charity Dinner & Dance Fundraiser for Suicide Prevention yesterday evening, involving many different businesses who also wanted to help with such a great cause. This year, The Cage Youth Foundation sponsored a professional counsellor who will provide vital guidance and support to the local youth of Redlands.It was a special evening filled with hope and community spirit, raising essential funds for suicide prevention.

We’re extremely glad to be working with somebody like Justin who is so passionate about helping others and making an impact on the next generation! Justin Hodges is a professional boxer and former professional rugby league player. He played rugby in the 2000s and 2010s for the Brisbane Broncos before moving onto the Sydney Roosters. Congratulations to the 2024 Peter Doherty Awards for Excellence in STEM Education winners! The winners were unveiled on Tuesday, 13 August 2024, just in time to celebrate National Science Week .This year also marks the 21st anniversary of these prestigious awards, named in honour of Brisbane's own Nobel Prize-winning scientist, Professor Peter Doherty. Embark on the Ekka Learning Trail with agronomist Rhondda and her Farmyard Friends for an educational adventure!

This self-guided tour offers a deep dive into agricultural education with a focus on AgTech and the science behind food and fibers. The Learning Trail Passport and Teacher's Guide, aligned with the Australian Curriculum, bridge the gap between science and agriculture.

The trail features eight distinct stops, beginning at the Ag Education Hall and culminating with the dairy production process. Along the way, students of all ages explore topics such as living organisms, materials, biological diversity, body systems, natural selection, adaptations, and evolution, with a special emphasis on species survival.

As part of the Learning Trail, discover Ekka's Greenhouse Innovator Competition. This initiative encourages students to optimize food production through STEM and horticultural studies. View the winning models from the competition, where students employed robotics and data analysis to enhance their classroom lettuce farms.

Queensland State Library just celebrated Library information week 2024. This years theme focused on the Roots of Democracy, looking at the profound connection between libraries and the knowledge, values and principles that contribute to a democratic society.
