Ekka Learning Trail: National Science Week
If you are in Brisbane & plan on going to the Ekka this year there are some great learning events going on!
Embark on the Ekka Learning Trail with agronomist Rhondda and her Farmyard Friends for an educational adventure!
This self-guided tour offers a deep dive into agricultural education with a focus on AgTech and the science behind food and fibers. The
Learning Trail Passport and Teacher's Guide, aligned with the Australian Curriculum, bridge the gap between science and agriculture.
The trail features eight distinct stops, beginning at the Ag Education Hall and culminating with the dairy production process. Along the
way, students of all ages explore topics such as living organisms, materials, biological diversity, body systems, natural selection,
adaptations, and evolution, with a special emphasis on species survival.
As part of the Learning Trail, discover Ekka's Greenhouse Innovator Competition. This initiative encourages students to optimize food
production through STEM and horticultural studies. View the winning models from the competition, where students employed robotics and data
analysis to enhance their classroom lettuce farms.
Don’t miss this chance to see these innovations in Ag Education Hall, the starting point of your ag-venture!
